Coaching to influence stakeholders and build relationships
If you are a communication or PR professional, you know just how important it is to have a strong and positive relationships with you stakeholders. Especially when the world of work, technology like AI and the changing pressures of our profession will call for us to evolve and that means we need to develop the skills that help us to bring strategic value to the organisations we work for.
We need an upgrade to our relationships.
We often need to challenge the status-quo, influence and engage with stakeholders in a way that resonates with them and get results.
We need move from tactical to strategic, advisor to partner and do it with confidence.
The challenge for our leaders to be human
Our leaders are called on to have a strong authentic presence, to be more human and compassionate.
Businesses and organisations need to broaden their view points and connect to the people internally and externally, systems and cultures that impact on not only their success, but that of society and the climate
Leadership teams are tasked with addressing pressure to survive in an ESG and sustainability environment that will hold organisations to account.
None of this is easy. This is where we can upgrade our approach and coaching skills can be the invaluable key to doing that.
For example, Coaching pioneer, Nancy Kline introduced the concept of a Thinking Environment revolves which is all about the connection created between two people – a Thinking Partnership. The Thinking Environment is grounded in some basic active listening skills, but it is all about the quality attention we give to the Thinker.
When we get that partnership right it feels great for both the leader we are coaching and the communication professional. What a gift!
Coaching is not something magical that is reserved for highly paid consultants. It is something we can all do, we can be more coach-like in our approach.
I have been coach-like for much longer than I have been a coach and I have seen the impact this approach on my work relationships. So, I designed a course to help you to build some basic coaching skills.
Build your coaching skills to influence stakeholders and senior leaders, become more than a trusted advisor.
Build your confidence and presence as you move from tactical to a more strategic relationship of support and challenge.
Become a coach who listens, stays present, gives balanced feedback and challenge to enable your leaders to flourish.
