A Collective for Human Leadership and Communication

When I worked inhouse, I sought out people who were writing about and researching human leadership.

I needed to take more than my opinion and internal data to stakeholders and leaders, I needed to make the case for more human ways to lead.

But more recently, the last year has felt isolating, I wished there was a community to learn and share with.

If you can’t find it and you need it, they you better get on and build it !

how?

What we know about human nature can inform how we lead and how we design and deliver change

So that is what I have done and that is what the Human Leadership Collective is all about.

There is great work already going on globally in a number of fields that I have explored and come across; coaches working with senior executives, communication professionals, training and learning institutes including further education and business schools, HR and organisational development professionals, change leaders, senior leaders and leadership teams, consultants and advisors, academics in many fields from neuroscience to anthropology , and more…

When things are too big and too messy, we can put them together and see where there are connections. I think of Dumbledore’s Pensieve (Sorry if Harry Potter analogies don’t work for you!), to make sense you need to get some distance “it becomes easier to spot patterns and links"

The Human Leadership Collective is a group that is just forming and growing, which aims to gather so that we can create more connections and progress towards more human leadership.

The challenge is leadership and communication for the future.
The future of work is already here and it requires different ways of working, different skills and different leadership. The future requires leaders of organisations, governments and communities to lead in a more human way.

Society demands human leaders, employees deserve human leaders and the road ahead will require human leaders.
Being human is in our nature but along the way through industrialisation and demands of today, we have moved away from the collective, connecting, kind and courageous type of leadership that we will need to take on future world challenges.

Definition of Humanly: From a human point of view, in a human manner.

The style of a leader, what they embody on the inside, only comes to life, when they start to communicate. If they can communicate ‘humanly’, they can create better human connections. Leadership lives in the followers, so the collective is about not only leadership inner development - from human view point, but how they bring to life a human way of communicating- in a human manner.

There are some incredible leaders that I have met who embody human leadership, maybe you have too. But many leaders and organisational cultures are not there yet, communication is a challenge, especially during change. But more change is coming. I believe that we can tackle problems when we share them and work together toward integrate solutions.

Is this your challenge too? Are you working towards or in a way that contributes to this goal? If so, then I warmly invite you to come, share and learn together.
